“Immerse yourself in the language and culture by taking simple and practical actions to bring the language and culture to your house”.

lf you are wondering: How do you do Spanish immersion at home? There are two approaches to learn the Spanish language and culture, in my opinion:

A) Sell your home and possessions, purchase a plane ticket to South America, backpack and hitchhike across the wonderful nations, meet wonderful people, and study Spanish in order to live and prosper.

B) Stay at home and immerse yourself in the language and culture by taking simple and practical actions to bring the language and culture to your house.

Option 1 would be an incredible life experience, but the fact is that most of us don’t have the time or means to do so, therefore we’re left with option 2. The good news is that learning Spanish is not only attainable, but also enjoyable! In your search for fluency and comprehension, here are a few pointers to help you bring the Spanish language and culture to your doorstep:

1) In Spanish directly, refer to common home items.

Instead of sitting at your table and reading a book, pretend and describe in Spanish that you’re sitting at la mesa and reading a libro. Look up Spanish terms on the internet and gradually integrate them into your everyday routine and household items.

2) Keep a Spanish journal

Even just writing one or two short phrases in Spanish about how you’re feeling, what transpired throughout the day, or what you want to happen would help.

3) Make use of social media

It’ll be simple to switch to Spanish if you’re already following individuals and pages you enjoy in English. Do you enjoy listening to music? Look for some Spanish musicians to follow on social media. Perhaps you might try creating your own articles in Spanish to see if anyone responds.

4) Find a Spanish-speaking partner.

You may immerse yourself all you want, but if you’re not speaking Spanish to yourself or others, you won’t be able to progress as quickly as you’d want. There are several online services where you may meet folks who are eager to speak Spanish. What are the chances? Perhaps you’ll make a new buddy.

These are only four simple methods to introduce Spanish culture and language into your house and interact with it on a daily basis. Remember that anything worthwhile requires a lot of effort, but the end result is well worth it! Carry on!
